| Italian
offensive in Albania |

In the Balkans... In Albania, the Italians launch an offensive along the
front between the rivers Devoli and Vijose. There are a few local successes initially. The Italians have assembled 12 divisions for the attack and Mussolini himself has crossed to Albania to supervise the progress. There is little subtlety to the tactical plan and much that is reminiscent of World War I. The Greek intelligence of the direction of the attack is good and their defenses well prepared. |

This
chronological study of the Second World War provides a
comprehensive day-by-day account of WWII. While focused on the
military history of the war, with an emphasis on the battles
and campaigns fought, the timeline includes social and
political history as well. Some Holocaust related events are
already recorded and additional updates are pending. In so far
as possible, the images included in this presentation are
pictures from the given days. Additional information and
images are welcome through the feedback form found on the
index.
