British troops in AbyssiniaIn East Africa... Since taking Mogadishu General Platt's troops have advance 600 miles north from there into Abyssinia and only now come into contact with any Italian forces. Their encounter is at Dagabur, only 100 miles south of Jijiga.

While focused on the military history of the war, with an emphasis on the battles and campaigns fought, the timeline includes social and political history as well.
