Soviet infantry fighting in BudapestOn the Eastern Front... In Hungary, Soviet forces are fighting within Budapest and have effectively cut off the city from re-supply. An attempt to begin negotiations with the garrison inside Budapest results in some of the Soviet emissaries being killed because of a misunderstanding.

On the Western Front... There is a lull in the fighting in the Ardennes as Allied forces buildup their forces for further counterattacks.

In Liberated Greece... The government announces that a regency is to be established and that Prime Minister Papendreou will resign when the regent has been chosen.
