British Bombardment of Algiers 1824

The expulsion of the British consul by Husayn Dey, the last ruler of Algiers, led to the bombardment of Algiers in 1824. The bombardment was carried out by a British squadron under Admiral Sir Harry Neal. Algerian piracy was still not completely suppressed, however.
