The Stavisky Affair in France 1934

French fascists used the "Stavisky affair" to develop large anti-Jewish riots, in a failed attempt to destroy the government and, with it, the Third Republic. Serge Stavisky, a Russian Jew and French financier, had committed suicide when accused of bond fraud.
