Franco-Moroccan War 1911-1912

In 1911, Moroccan forces besieged Frech-occupied Fez; the siege was lifted a month later by a French relief force.

In 1912, Moroccan soldiers in the French Fez garrison mutinied (April 17), could not take the city, and were defeated by a French relief column. Moroccan forces unsuccessfully assaulted the augmented French garrison (late May). France declared Morocco a French protectorate, while the war continued.
