British Expedition to Ceylon 1803-1804

In 1803 British forces attacked inland on Ceylon (Sri Lanka), taking Kandy (February 1803) but then losing it to counterattacking Sinhalese forces (June 1803).

British forces on Ceylon again took Kandy and were again forced to evacuate the city in 1804.
