Conservative Revolution in Venezuela 1868

A decentralized Venezuela under the leadership of President Juan Falcon (1820-70), a Liberal, led to increasing political disorder and fighting among strong provincial caudillos (military leaders). Jose Tadeo Monagas (1784-1868) headed a Conservative revolution that toppled Falcon in 1868.
