November Coup in Venezuela 1992

Disgruntled air force units, allied with civilian leftists, later failed in another military coup against President Perez on November 27, 1992; aircraft attacked Perez's office in Caracas, where heavy fighting occurred for half a day. Arrested were 240 soldiers and civilians. However, corruption charges leveled against Perez led to his removal from the presidency in May 1993 and to his conviction for mismanagement of a multimillion-dollar government fund in May 1996.
