OnWar.com provides visitors with a select collection of interesting information about weapons and warfare with a focus on World War II specifically and the twentieth century more generally. The Forum On War gives visitors the opportunity to interact with others with similar interests.

Information this Site Gathers/Tracks

OnWar.com Server Logs: The server logs IP addresses, referrer domains and browser types, but this information is not used in general to link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that a user’s session will be tracked, but the user will be anonymous.

Forum On War Registration: You can browse our site without entering any personal information and therefore remain anonymous during your visit. However, we hope that all visitors will choose to participate in the Forum On War and register themselves as members. The registration form asks users for a user name, e-mail address, various preferences, and various types of demographic information.

Use of the Information this Site Gathers/Tracks

The server logs IP addresses for systems administration purposes and these logs are analyzed to constantly improve the value of the materials available on this website. Be aware that a time/date stamp and IP address are logged for all messages posted on the Forum On War and this information will be made available to competent authorities in cases of abuse on this bulletin board. No other use will be made of the posting log.

Sharing of the Information this Site Gathers/Tracks

OnWar.com does not share private information about registrants of the Forum On War with anyone. The only information required to register are a unique pseudonym or name (the user name) and a valid and unique e-mail address. All other information is provided on a voluntary basis. You have the option to provide no additional information. Please also see the Opt-out section below. Aggregate data derived from the server logs may be made available to third parties (e.g., the total number of page views in a given period).
