In all 12 ships of the class were planned but only the Fargo and the USS Huntington (CL-107) were ever completed, the rest being cancelled at varying states of completion with the end of the World War II. USS Fargo (CL-106) was in active service with the United States Navy between 1945 and 1950. She was deployed to the Mediterranean, Caribbean and in the Atlantic for tours and exercises.
