Army Revolt in Libya 1980

In August 1980 several hundred people were allegedly killed in the wake of an unsuccessful army revolt centered in Tobruk that was rapidly suppressed. The head of the French secret service, Col Alain de Gaigneronde de Marolles, resigned after the French-led plan ended in disaster.
