MFDC Insurgency in Senegal 1989-1991

That same year (1991), President Diouf arranged a cease-fire agreement with separatist rebels in casamance, a rainy region in south-western Senegal, bounded by Gambia (north) and Guinea-Bissau (south); guerrillas of the Mouvement des Forces Democratiques de Casamance received total amnesty, having battled the government for two years.
