Military Rebellion in Spain 1868

The increasingly autocratic rule of Spain's Queen Isabella II (1830-1904), whose personal life was a public scandal, caused some of her ministers to foment a military rebellion to oust her in July 1868. But it failed, and the leading rebel generals were banished to the Canary Islands.
